Event Overview
Receptions offer your team the opportunity to engage with University of Michigan engineering students in a casual, resume-free setting ahead of the Career Fair. Hosted in the FRB Atrium, these two-hour events feature refreshments and informal seating to promote open, low-pressure conversations. Without the structure of booths, recruiters can connect with students on a more personal level, helping to build interest and familiarity before the more formal setting of the Fair. Participating in the Reception is a valuable way to maximize visibility, foster early connections, and attract top talent from Michigan Engineering.

Additional Notes
No Resumes: Students have been instructed to not bring resumes to Receptions. These events are intended to encourage casual, open conversations without the formality of traditional recruiting.
Dress Code: Students have been recommended to dres in business casual attire to maintain a professional yet relaxed atmosphere.
Company Attire: Company representatives are encouraged to wear branded t-shirts for easy identification and to support a more approachable setting.

Receptions
The receptions are great opportunities for student and corporate representatives to interact and network in a relaxed setting. Receptions are free of charge, and corporate representatives are encouraged to attend the evening before their registered date at the Fall Engineering Career Fair.

A few additional notes:

Since the intention is to create a more relaxed atmosphere, we do not allow students to bring resumes.

We require companies to RSVP so that we can get an accurate headcount. RSVP links will be sent out via email to companies that indicated receptions attendance during registration. The RSVP will be sent a few weeks before the fair.

The receptions will take place in the Ford Robotics Building Atrium. Recruiters will chat with students without any booths, enjoying food and refreshments around small tables.

Similar to during the career fair, most recruiters wear company t-shirts or other apparel to identify themselves.

There is no cap on the number of representatives from one company.
